The Maryland Town Board has created a Capital Improvement Fund for the Schenevus Lake Park. Net precepts from the Regatta are donated to this fund.
THE SCHENEVUS LAKE PARK
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND
The Maryland Board has established a dedicated fund to finance Capital Improvements to the Schenevus Lake Park. This fund is strictly for voluntary donations only.
The Maryland Town Board is considering the design and construction of a 20’ X 40’ pavilion in the 2 acre vacant lot above the parking lot at the swimming beach. This pavilion will include two bathrooms, a utility room, and room for 8 picnic tables. The construction of the pavilion will include running water and electricity. Elevated cooking stoves will be installed near the pavilion.
The Maryland Town Board will be applying for Federal and State Recreational Grants to aide in financing the project. These grants are matching fund grants. The Maryland Town Board intends to use the funds donated to the Schenevus Lake Park Capital Improvement Fund to meet the matching fund requirements.
The second Picnic table has been installed. This was purchased with money from the Capital Improvement Fund.
If you would like to donate, you can send or hand deliver a contribution to the Town Clerk. We also plan to have a display and will take donations at:
Willie's Farm
Chief Schenevus Coffee Shop and Bakery
The Lubricant and Tire Warehouse
Tauzel Farms
